Invented in the 1700s, roulette quickly became popular around the world by the early 1800s. For more than 300 years, players have been trying to find ways to win. This led to the creation of many strategies. In this article, we will look at the main roulette systems and determine if they are effective.

Roulette – systems and strategies in the game

Roulette systems

Below we will look at some of the most popular roulette systems and examine their effectiveness.

Martingale system

Martingale is perhaps the best known system. It is based on the principle that you double your bet after each loss, so that you can recover your losses with a win. For example, if you bet €10 and lose, your next bet will be €20. If you lose again, the next one will be 40€, and so on. Although it can work in small series, it takes a lot of capital and can lead to big losses if there is a long losing streak.

The Martingale system may seem effective in the short term, but in the long term it is impractical. Constant losses quickly increase the stake required, often exceeding the casino’s limits and leading to significant losses. Therefore, Martingale is not a safe strategy for long-term use.

Fibonacci system

The Fibonacci system is based on the famous Fibonacci sequence. In this strategy, each bet is the sum of the two previous bets. For example, if you start with €1 and lose, the next bet will also be €1 (1+0). If you lose again, the next bet will be 2€ (1+1). This strategy is less aggressive than Martingale and may be safer for smaller funds.

The Fibonacci system is less aggressive than the Martingale and can be safer for smaller funds. Because stakes increase at a slower rate, losses are more manageable. However, it does not ensure profits and can lead to losses during prolonged losing streaks. Overall, the Fibonacci system offers a more conservative approach, but does not guarantee success.

D’Alembert system

D’Alembert is a system where you increase your bet by one point after each defeat and decrease it by one point after each victory. For example, if you bet €10 and lose, your next bet will be €11. If you win, the next bet will be €10 again. This system is more stable and less risky than Martingale.

The D’Alembert system is more stable and less risky than the Martingale, as the stakes increase and decrease gradually. This approach reduces the risk of large losses and helps in capital management. Although it does not guarantee profits, it is more sustainable in the long run, making it a safer strategy for many players.

Labouchere system

Labouchere is more complicated. You start by writing a series of numbers, e.g. 1-2-3-4-5. Your bet is the sum of the first and last number (1+5=€6). If you win, you cross out these numbers. If you lose, you add the amount at the end of the row. Continue until all numbers are cleared. It is a flexible system, but requires careful capital management.

The Labouchere system is flexible and allows adjustments according to losses and gains. If you win, you delete numbers and reduce the bet. If you lose, you add the lost amount to the end of the turn, increasing the next bet. This system requires careful capital management and discipline, but it can be effective for those who can follow it faithfully. It does not guarantee winnings, but offers a structured way of managing bets.

James Bond system

The James Bond system is a strategy for quick profits. Always bet the same amounts on specific options: 70% of your amount on numbers 19-36, 25% on numbers 13-18 and 5% on 0. Although you may often win, a single losing bet can wipe out your winnings.

The James Bond system is effective because it covers a large part of the roulette table, increasing the chances of winning each round. By strategically allocating bets to different areas, it creates more opportunities for success and encourages quick wins. Using 0 protects against large losses, and the frequent occurrence of wins keeps player morale high. This psychological support can encourage players to keep playing, thus increasing the chances of long-term winnings.

Top tips to increase your chances of winning at roulette

01

The most profitable roulette strategy is to know when to stop and always set a starting capital that you can lose. Roulette is designed in such a way that live casinos always win without losing their edge.

02

The best way is to enjoy the game and not increase your “wallet”. Always remember that the winner is the one who doesn’t lose from the start.

03

Set your maximum loss amount and desired profit amount before the first ball. Whichever of the two points you reach, stop the game. This is the best roulette strategy. This way you can limit your losses and have a chance to win.
